Out of Hours Care Where to go

Whilst we now provide access to our GPs and Nurses for 12 hours every weekday, we understand better than anyone that medical problems and emergencies do not always conform to this schedule. For those matters that arise outside of our opening hours, we would encourage our patients to make use of the many and varied out-of-hours resources provided by NHS Wandsworth:

For life threatening emergencies, always call 999 and ask for an ambulance immediately.

For serious incidents and traumas, for example, suspected fractures, head injuries, traffic accidents or significant burns, we would advise attending a local Accident & Emergency department. A list of local A&E departments can be found here. St George’s Hospital is the closest A&E department to Thurleigh Road.

For minor injuries and illnesses (colds, infections, sprains, cuts etc.) there are walk-in clinics that provide treatment and medication. In some cases, patients who attend walk-in clinics with sufficiently urgent problems will be transferred directly from the walk-in clinics to hospital, bypassing A&E.

There are other national resources such as the NHS Direct and Patient UK websites, both of which contain a wealth of information regarding symptoms, medications and treatment.

NHS Direct also offers a 24-hour, Nurse-led advice line on:
0845 46 47.
