We are pleased to now offer text message appointment reminders to all patients over the age of 12.

The reminder texts are sent out each morning at around 9am, three days in advance of your appointment. They contain the date and time of your appointment only

Due to issues of confidentiality, a unique mobile phone number must be provided for each family member over the age of 12 – we cannot sign up entire families with a single phone number only.

Parents of patients under the age of 12 can have reminders for their children’s appointments sent to their own phone.

To sign up, all you need to do is log your mobile phone number with one of our receptionists – they will update your electronic patient record with the number and reminders will start being sent automatically.

We now also send out flu vaccination reminder messages to eligible at-risk patients and are looking to expand our use of text messaging further. The recent Swine Flu vaccination campaign relied heavily on text messaging to inform patients of their eligibility for the vaccine.

We would strongly encourage patients to sign up to this very useful communication tool!
