If a GP issues you a medication on repeat, you will be able to request a new prescription without having to book an appointment to see the doctor again. Please note that not all medications are automatically issued on repeat – check with a receptionist if you are unsure.

We will need your request for the repeat prescription in writing – you can email or fax a request directly to the surgery, drop in your previous prescription with the medicines you would like reissued highlighted, or come in and fill out a repeat request form available at the front desk.

A written request ensures that there is no confusion over which medicines are to be reissued and provides paper proof of every repeat request, ensuring no scripts are issued fraudulently.

We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the phone for this reason.

If you do not have access to a fax machine and cannot attend the surgery in person, we thoroughly recommend signing up for EMIS Access which allows you to request repeat scripts over the internet.

Please be aware that repeat prescriptions take TWO working days to process.
