She initially specialised in paediatrics, working at a number of local hospitals including the Brompton and Great Ormond Street, gaining the qualification Member of the Royal College of Physicians (Paediatrics) (MRCP(Paed)). She then spent time working abroad in India and Australia, returning to complete her training in general practice.
She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and also holds the Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and Family Planning Assistants Certificate.
She has a particular interest in children’s mental health. She is an approved GP trainer and lectures to other doctors about paediatrics. She has published a textbook for GPs called ‘Child mental health in primary care’ which was published by Radcliffe Medical Press. Dr Salt recently was a member of the NICE group which was responsible for developing national strategies for treating patients with ADHD.
Within the practice Dr Salt is the lead practitioner for child health, asthma and thyroid disorders, and is also developing a parenting programme for our patients with young children.
