Before entering general practice, he spent five years working in relevant specialities in several London hospitals. He also worked at Trinity Hospice and spent some time at Barbican Health, in the City. He and his wife have worked in hospitals and general practice in India, Sri Lanka and Australia. Roger is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and is a GP Postgraduate trainer. He holds the Diploma of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and family planning qualification.
Roger has an interest in Expedition Medicine and has worked recently on trips to Costa Rica, Nepal, India and Tanzania. He also provides medical care for endurance races and charity events. Expeditions to Norway and Cambodia are planned.
